Collection 20: Living Room


The living room is dominated by large windows, which provide dramatic lighting for works by
Karen LaMonte, Stephen Rolfe Powell, and Gisela Sabokova. There is a fireplace on the left.

Pieces by Vasa, Harley and others grace the glass coffee table.

Also on the coffee table is Carole Freve's "L'Ecorce, 2000," blown and
kiln-worked glass, steel and brass knitting.

Yoichi Ohira's "Mosaico a Rami Rossi" is on the end table. Created with Maestros Andrea
Zilio and Giacomo Barbini using hand-blown canes with murrini, granular and
powder inserts, with the surface finished with partial battuto and inciso techiniques.

 

 


On the side wall is Charles Arnoldi's "According to Code," wood with acrylic.
Above the piano is Mel Watkins' "Figure with Too Many Eyes," graphite on paper, canvas
backed. The Erwin Eisch head shown on the coffee table in this photo has been moved to
the family dining room, and is shown and described on that page.

 

 


The collectors' friendly, low-maintenance dog resides under the piano. The installation, with digital ink-jet print, glass, and metal, is Marta Klonowska's "Portrait of a Lady Holding her Pet King Charles Spaniel, after the painting with the same title by Jan Verkotje (Dutch, 1650-1693)".

An etagere holds part of the collection of art nouveau glass cookie jars, with more
on the mantle. To the left of the etagere is "Objects of Bright Pride," a lampworked, painted
glass wall hanging by Janis Miltenberger.Brent Galaude's painted wood carving, "Pulling
Man," and Akio Takamori's "Young Soldier" (stoneware with underglaze) are on the hearth.
